Hi. I am Patrick McGuire, and this page is an introduction to my photography.

The best place to view my photos is on flickr. This page is like a tour guide around the photos which are hosted there.

You can buy some prints of some of my photos here

If you would like prints of other photos, please email me.

I am perhaps best known for my photos of the Isle of Barra, which I visit once or twice a year for the purpose of taking lots of photos.

For all my pictures of Barra, in a random order, click here

my most "interesting" photos (according to flickr's unfathomable algorithm)

More details on my wedding rates etc can be found on this page. I work in a largely digital medium and will provide a DVD with hundreds of photos, rather than physical prints. If the couple want my help to get prints of those images, I'm happy to provide it, but I don't intend to make a profit on it; I'm just paid for taking and post-processing the photos. I think this is a fairer model, and hope they will too.

Feedback on wedding photography

Its Anne here (Aileens mum)

I just want to say a massive THANK YOU from both George & I for the amazing photographs you took of Aileen & Malcolm's wedding. We are quite overwhelmed by the amount & the very artistic content & quality. We have had a few calls from friends that did not make the wedding & they all say the same.... You have captured not only the people but the atmosphere of the day, wish seemed to be full fun, laughter & love.... Very true. It was a wonderful day.

Rest assured you will be highly recommended by us to all our friends who seek the services of a photographer.
Was lovely meeting you,

Anne & George xx

"Dear Patrick, Just to say a huge thank you for taking such beautiful photographs of our wedding. I picked up the prints from Boots yesterday and spent a happy afternoon putting them all into an album, they look fantastic and are a wonderful momento of our special day".

I really enjoy doing baby photos and the like. I normally spend an hour or so taking documentary-style photos of the child just doing it's own thing, and capturing his or her personality.
Here is an example of the kind of thing you would get. Delivered as a CD with lots of photos on it, rather than prints of a few.

From various locations in Europe and North America

Largely featuring my "cloud whooshing" technique for long exposures

I am usually amenable to my images being used for marketing etc. I may allow small non-profit organisations to use them from free, but otherwise expect some kind of payment to cover my costs. As long as it doesn't interfere with my day job, I'm available for commissions which can be negotiated.
